 So, doesn't look like there's really a whole lot of interest in getting any more of Dowman Sayman's Nickelodeon serialization translated. Despite that, I really, really want to, so I'm putting up a donation page anyway for anyone who feels the same. :P

So, the last Para★iso chapter I did was 41. I guess I missed 42. :0 Actually, I translated this a while ago and forgot about it.

That said, even though this is only my second Paraiso translation, it's also probably my last. I like the series, but it's just that almost every joke relies solely on puns and parodies unique to Japanese language and pop-culture, all of which make no sense if said in English. Translating it really doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

I do really like those 2 bodyguard girls though.

So, more Dowman. This one is from "The End of Sexual Instinct and the Hydrogen Bomb War," the 3rd in a series of one-shot collections. This is actually two 4-page one shots, but they're sequential, so here's both.

The stories in Sexual Instinct generally seem to have less structure than Nickelodeon. Like the name suggests, there's usually sexual content in there as well. As always though, there is no shortage of bizarre characters or over-all craziness to be found.

So a while back I offered to translate this one if anyone could give me the raws. Thanks to the Anonymous who passed these along to me. ^^

I have to say though, as a fan of the game, I really liked the first one. I thought it did a pretty good job of keeping the characters in-character (well, for a doujin in which sex is involved. ;P )

This one is just okay. Seems like a tight schedule didn't allow as much care to go into this one overall though.
But if you like ro's art, like Solatorobo, and you want to see teh sex, I guess you really can't go wrong here.

Nickelodeon [Red], this time about a masked crime-fighter.

On an unrelated subject, I was kinda surprised how closely split the poll about manga translation technique was (well, only 78 votes, but still.) I didn't vote, but in my opinion getting closer to the feel of what the author originally wrote is more important than literal translations of what actual words appear. I guess you could say the more literal the translation, the closer to the author's intention it would be, but I'd argue the author never wanted their characters to speak in peculiar and awkward sentences, either. Oh well, that's just the trade off translation comes with, right? Maybe I should try sticking as literal as I can next time just for fun though. ;)

So, I think there's only like, what, 3 shorts left from Nickelodeon now? Then all there is is monthly(?) Oddman 11 and maybe Ayame and Amane...
